So, Tamara is getting ready for her baptism this week!!
YAAAYY!! Looks like we'll have a white Christmas haha :) Everyone keep her in
your prayers, please!!
We met a woman that lives around the corner from Tamara and
have tried to do her lawns for her like 2 or 3 times, but she's never home when
we set up a time. We finally caught her at home this week, and it was raining
(wait - isn't it supposed to be summer here? I feel like i'm in Oregon) so she
let us inside for a cup of milo. She really opened up to us, and we were all
crying, the spirit was so strong. She told us about how she was addicted to
morphine and heroine for 15 years, but got clean and now just puts all her time
into her little daughter. She feels so guilty from those years, and we got to
share with her about how she can have her guilt and pain literally wiped away
because of our Savior. She was all teary-eyed, and looked at my companion. She
said, "Don't look at me with those eyes!" and ran into the other
room. She said came back in with a tissue and told us that we both have
"honest eyes" and after meeting us the first time, she just started
thinking about all these things (God, guilt, her family) just because of
the way the sister missionaries' eyes looked. That is so cool!! Literally
just meeting someone can change their life, I think - just because we have the
gift of the Holy Ghost. wow!
We had a Carol Night this week, with less of a turnout than
expected, but that's okay. Merry Christmas!!!! I played the guitar for a few
songs. One of our potential investigators was learning to play guitar, and i
offered to teach her the few things I know. After one pseudo-lesson, she went
out to an op-shop and bought a guitar so we could have two. Then she gave us
the new guitar. Uuuuh what?! So now we get to play! Yaaay! It was quite a
miracle i could even play the songs.. because i don't have
any calluses left on my fingers, and we found out about 24 hours in
advance that I would be accompanying the group with the guitar. But
it was soooo awesome and fun!
Well, the gospel is true. Jesus Christ lives and He loves
us!!! Remember the reason for the season!!
love,
Sister Rose
